I listened to this on my way home from my second to last final and it made me smile.

Jeremy and I are doing so well and it makes my heart so glad.  Marriage is amazing.

Jess Sparks

The other day, I drove past that baptist church on Bashford Manor and their sign read

“Jess Loves You”

And I’ll have you know, I felt so loved.  :)

What does Spring Break mean when you’re married? Cuddling lots, working extra for extra cash to spend on the house, and finally reading a book not for school. INVICTUS.

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconnquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

-William Ernest Benley (1849-1903)

We are one human family whatever our national, racial, ethnic, economic, and ideological differences. We are out brothers’ and sisters’ keepers, wherever they may be. Loving our neighbor has global dimensions in a shrinking world. At the core of the virtue of solidarity is the pursuit of justice and peace. Pope Paul VI taught that “if you want peace, work for justice.” The Gospel calls us to be peacemakers. Our love for all our sisters and brothers demands that we promote peace in a world surrounded by voilence and conflict.
